Greg Montalbano first became intrigued with the underwater world at the age of 15. He first tried diving on a family vacation in Barbados and again on a subsequent vacation in Florida. Greg was fascinated by the underwater world and stopped by Treasure Cove one day after school to find out what is involved in becoming a certified scuba diver.
After completing his open water class in 2005, R.J. was very impressed with Greg's ambition and desire to learn more about diving and offered Greg an opportunity to work at Treasure Cove, and he has been with us ever since. Greg continued his diver education and is now a SSI Dive Control Specialist where he enjoys working with divers and helping them reach the goals in diving. Greg is now in the process of completing his Instructor Training Course and, given his college schedule, can most often be found at Treasure Cove on Saturdays.
Greg is an avid local diver and holds certifications with both IANTD and TDI for decompression diving. On many Sundays throughout the summer dive season, Greg can be found on a charter dive boats exploring the shipwrecks of New Jersey and hunting his favorite seafood delight, monkfish.
Since his initial certification, Greg has traveled out of the country to Bermuda, Cozumel and St. Kitts to enjoy the diving in the Caribbean Sea. He has also conducted dives in the 1,000 Island region on the border between Canada and the United States to explore the shipwrecks of the St. Lawrence River.
